SUPPORT SERVICES

As members of the community, you can access a range of general services including community health, sports and recreation, employment and maternal and child healthcare services.

You can request disability supports if:

  • You have an intellectual, physical, sensory or neurological disability or an acquired brain injury
  • The disability impacts your mobility, communication, self-care or self-management
  • Your support request meets specific requirements related to the service you are seeking.

Local Resources

Broward County Para-transit (TOPS: Transportation Options)
TOPS provides transportation services for people with a physical, cognitive, emotional, visual or other disability that prevents them from using fixed route bus services. TOPS users must meet disability criteria under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The Florida Department of Children and Families
Determines eligibility and ongoing case management of food assistance (food stamps), temporary cash assistance and Medicaid for families with children or older adults who are blind or disabled.
