A Production by Stages Productions

This performance is intended to create a welcoming and supportive environment for children and adults on the autism spectrum as well as individuals with other sensitivity issues or developmental disabilities. To create a sensory-friendly setting, slight adjustments have been made to the production including reduced sound levels, no flashing or strobe lights and minimal special effects. An area adjacent to the theater has been designated as a quiet zone with specially trained volunteers to provide audience support.

From the Emmy-winning team behind the mega-hit television series, “Friends,” comes Rapunzel. A familiar tale with a fantastic new spin, it has all of the charm that you’d expect from the minds that have been making the world laugh non-stop for more than two decades. Rapunzel is an enticing classic complete with the long haired beauty, Prince Charming and the evil witch. Rapunzel’s parents, starving and destitute, make a pact with a nearby witch to give her their first born child in exchange for food. Exiled to a lonely tower, only the witch may visit Rapunzel by climbing up her beautiful, long hair. As the years pass, the witch gives the strong willed princess everything she wants except freedom. This seriously funny tale shows how a possessive mother, a tentative prince, and a naive young girl all grow up in a surprising way.
