Assistive technology (AT), including Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), can not only enhance the lives and capabilities of students with ASD but also provide educators and related service provides with a valuable tool to allow students with ASD increased educational opportunities. Identifying appropriate AT and AAC for students with ASD can be a challenging process for everyone involved. While focusing on students with ASD this training will provide participants with an overview of AT and AAC, guidance on how to effectively secure AT for students, meeting the needs of students with ASD with AT, and tips and tricks for implementing AT and AAC in the classroom.
